This morning Feynman School was honored to welcome a delegation from Thailand’s Teachers’ Educational Study Visit to the United States. The delegation is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Thailand-United States Education Foundation (Fulbright Thailand). The group was particularly interested in visiting Feynman School because of its focus on science education and nurturing high potential students.

Our visitors spent the morning observing Feynman classrooms in action as well as participating in a discussion and Q & A session on best practices in gifted education with administrators, teachers and Feynman Advisory Board member Helaine Zinaman. They witnessed first-hand the daily excitement of discovery that our students enjoy through hands-on STEM lessons–a “thinking walk” in pre-K to assess background knowledge of the human body; a physics demonstration in second grade to see how the type of surface a car travels across can affect its speed; and engineering challenges in third through sixth grades.

We thank the delegation for spending the morning with us and presenting us with gifts including beautiful Thai artwork. We look forward to continuing the dialogue and developing a possible exchange program for both teachers and students.
